Swap Cadeau

Last week I've got something very special in my mail box, it's a beautiful necklace from Jen who is a jewelry designer and own a gorgeous shop on etsy. You might recognize her as Pole Star.

We are both proud member of Artisan Gallery Team and this year we decided that we play gift swap, where we didn't know where the gift came from until it has arrived. It was very fun and I'm so lucky to received this beautiful necklace from Jen.

Paris

We went to Paris last month for our Summer Holiday. We've been there pretty often because is only four hours from Neuchatel with TGV direct! But still so many new places that we hadn't been visited before. So it was a fun holiday for all of us and fabrics...er did I mention it yet? I've got tons of them!:)))
And that's what I call a perfect holiday...

Day Trip to Yvoire, France

Three weeks ago, Nuriana and me went for a day trip to the fabulously medieval village Yvoire in France. Well actually three of us but hubby carry on to Evian to play golf with his office colleague.

Here some the pictures I shot, we arrived very early because the hub need to start his game at 10am! So Nuriana and me had the place for ourselves before the crowded tourists start to make lots of noises:)

Btw, one thing that really made me lost for words is, Chloe told me that she didn't edit any of these pictures with photoshop, all of them exactly like the one she shot! Doesn't she an amazing photographer? And yes, Alexandra is a genuinely beautiful too:)

Europe For Charity

Last year, European sellers on Etsy decided to open a shop for a charity, we call it Europe for Charity.
All items in this shop are created by Artists from Europe. All the revenue from the sales will 100% goes to selected organization which will be benefit to the most needed.

For the time being, all the revenue we have will goes directly to the tsunami victims in Japan.

When the shop itself is full with beautiful items, thanks to many European Sellers:) the most busy bee who is working tirelessly behind the shop is baa from baahar. Thank you for the hard work and the donations ladies, and please carry on to support our shop!:)

VERONA, ITALY

We went away last week, it's a long Easter weekend here in Switzerland.
So we plan to go somewhere and enjoy the nice weather.

All Grant family here always loves Italy, their food, architecture and the fabulous weather! At the end we decided to go to a place that we haven't visited yet and we pick Verona, which is the home town of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet story.

A Photoshoot Day

Yesterday, my lovely friend Chloe help me out with the photos for my latest collection.

We decided to do it in the centre town where we can find the ambiance what we looking for.

It was a lovely day but since we start from early in the morning to avoid the crowded, we still feel the morning chill and I have to thanks Chloe and Sasha, our pretty model who always smile and have fun in the process.

NEW ATELIER

Many of you already know that from this month I will start working in my own studio yay!!! So I won't be working in my dining room studio anymore:)

Well that's the big theory, but since I only will working in this studio during the day, chance are, I will still using my dining room studio for doing some work in the evening, oh well...:)

My new place is in a 100 years old building, which I will share with a friend. I will use this place as my working place and a showroom.

Here some of the pics I shot today, as you can see still a blank canvas:)
We will move my working gears this Saturday and hopefully I can start working there from Monday:)

But I think it will take time before this place really really nice....:)

Sunday on Le Landeron

We went to Le Landeron today which is a gorgeous medieval village about 15 minutes drives from where we lives. It has their annual Brocante, or flea market weekend, which comes from all over Switzerland.

Yes, is the biggest flea market in Switzerland!

CARGOH

I have a new shop and I love it!
This website based in Canada and juried. Honestly I wasn't really interesing at the first, because I feel like Etsy still the best out there. But when I read so many fuss about Cargoh on the Etsy forum, I did take a look again and I think I quite like their design layout and their target audience.

Now I'm in love, I will put all my design in one place there, eco, leather or any other new design I have in mind:)

Simplicity Clutch

Yes, the name say it all.
This time no pleats, ruffles or fancy details.
Its just about a simple clutch with my favourite burlap material in stunning colour of course there is a beautiful flower handmade by Marianna in Hungary and my scraps leather which make it look sweet. I think this pretty little thing can stand up from the crowd:)

Summer Holiday

Grant family here will going for a holiday in Istanbul tomorrow for around ten days. I had been finished orders, tidy up the house and plenty little things that really eaten up my time!

My Creative Space

So what I did last week and earlier this week?
Finished another Le Cabas for my eco shop of course, this time in Orange and Natural colour.

Then arranging some of my burlap too, I need to get some new colour for the next seasons.

Talking about next seasons, I also busy preparing some new collection for it. This time I won't start listing them until all complete, but I will make them also in Summer colour and continue to Autumn and Winter colour.

I need to be painstakingly patient to finish this style of bags, do you fancy to have a sneak preview? Then you will understand what I mean:)

In Details...

I shot these flowers sometimes ago in Evian, France. Yes the place where your Evian mineral water came from.

Still play and have fun with my camera, I also still need to learn more how to use it. There you go, I admit it:)

So far, I'm quite happy with the result, I limited using photoshop editing this time, try to see what is look like without 'too much make up'. I think they came up very pretty, don't you think?

Her name is Le Cabas, well that's French and the free translation for it is The Tote, as simple as that. You can use this bag as a handbag, shoulder bag or crossbody bag! Very fun, isn't it? I love it and I hope I can finished the others soon:)

Bonne Fête Maman

Last Friday, I had tears in my eyes when my little girl gave me something very special for me. As usual I pick her at her school and instead of running to me like she always does, she suddenly dissapear only to come to me with this beautiful bouquet:)

She made this very cute flower at school with a photo of her big grins and a beautiful song by Ann Rocard which she sang to me when she gave it to me, apparently that what her teacher Malorry asked her to do:)

Leather

Did you know that my leathers are dyed to order?

Yep, I bought them from a small company in Italy who will dye them after I purchased the leather. Usually my supplier send me their leather colour swatches then I will tell them which one I like or pick any colour from wikipedia, if they can do it or not they will let me know before I transfer the payment:)

So, yes they are very special made for you, only sometimes I have to wait a little bit longer before they can ship them to me, just like my bags, made to order:)

I love the idea like this, very personal and they just do the dye when they knew someone want the leather, no unnecessary waste!

About My Girl...

I think is normal for a new mum to talk about her baby all the time. The amazing feeling when you hold your little one and never stop feeling grateful how lucky you are. But what I find out later on, that feeling never stop and you find that every change of your little one still as exciting as the first time:)

I always love linen, no question about that and want to make lots of thing with them. Only is not always happens. But I don't mind, by looking to them made me happy already:). Yesterday another colours has arrived.

Most of these linen I bought them here in Neuchatel, originally they are French, German and Italian Linen. But since the last two years, I terribly in love with Lithuanian Linen. I touch and saw this linen in Estonia for the first time and with luck, I found a fantastic supplier directly from Lithuania and they always send me their new swatches colour for me to choose! many of these colour are not in their website. So I feel like I'm having a little treasures sometimes:)

My Creative Space

I don't think I'm doing something special today, finishing some orders and try to make a new bag in between.

But there is something special happened yesterday, after waiting more than one week, well usually only three days, er... blame it to the volcano ash! My Lithuanian Linen arrived at last! Oh yes:)))

Food, Fun and Kids

I went for a lunch today with my friend Anita and our kids. One thing for sure, when you took two under five to the restaurant, fancy restaurant or gourmet food is the last thing you worry about!

You just want to go somewhere where your kids will happy with the service, lots of toys or colouring! And when those little princes and prince content, any food in front of you will taste tastier:)

Weekly Favourite

For this Weekly Favourite I will take you to Laarne, Belgium.
Nope, not for the famous Belgium chocolate or mussel and frites but for the gorgeous fleurfatale by Greet Tanghe, a mum of four who creates beautiful jewelleries and accessories for you.

Most of her designs just like her shop name full with beautiful flowers and colourful, is a real treat to the eyes really:). Also, the way she photograph them is incredible pretty, which is not a big surprise considering she have a graphic design background. She also supporting Fair Trade, doing lots of recycle, repurpose and anything that will make her work more earth friendly. So, take a seat, relax and enjoy these beauties:)

New Baby

I've got a new sewing machine last month, you can say she is my dream sewing machine. It took me months to be able to take her home because...er... I need to do some saving first and she doesn't come cheap! Luckily the lady in the shop trust me and keep her for me until I paid it off:)

So remember this corner from a pic that I took last year?

Now, become this baby, it's a Bernina Industrial Sewing Machine from seventies!:)

Then when I check all the old files to find that corner picture, I found these two, believe me how I wish my shelves will always look like this....

Oh well, maybe if I'm too busy organising my fabrics I won't have enough time for sewing......, yes I know it's a lame excuses:)))

Pretty Things In The Mail

Many of you already know, that I use Inger beautiful flower for Large Cressier Bag.
So as usual, I always asks her to make me some more flowers, but yesterday to my big surprise, darling Inger sent me something special with those flowers, something like this flower:)

I speechless to be honest and only can say thank you thank you and thank you for her beautiful pressy:)

Oh my lucky story is not ending yet, two and half months ago, when I return from my long holiday, something beautiful and cute already waiting for me at home:)
This time sent by the lovely Kristin directly from Istanbul, Turkey. She is a talented artist and the proud owner of Evihan .
You must be wonder, what took me so long to tell you about Kristin pressy. Well is my fault, she sent me this cute ladybug and my daughter thought that supposed to be for her and she snap it before I had a chance to say no!
As usual I couldn't find it until I declutter her treasury boxes, there she goes hiding in there with her pretty little things:)

This week favourite shop is so special for me, I have to admit that her shop is my first love on Etsy:) I even admire her shop, long before I have an account on etsy.

How do I will explain it about her shop, it's so difference and stand out from the crowd and the artist herself is Super Talented! What more amazing all her works is one of a kind! You just need to see her journals to understand what I mean.

Yes today we visiting Vienna, Austria and say hi to the lovely Renate Ikinger, the artist behind Kreativlink's beautiful journals.

Oh one more thing, her shop is really busy and since she reluctant to take a custom order and repeat her design, you better get yourself with the journal you like when you see it. Chance are you won't get it anymore if you waiting too long!:)

Grant family return to London two weeks ago but only for a short trip, well three days to be precised.

It's strange but I see London as a tourist now, not like someone who was living there for five years.

Project one...

From this month, I promise myself for once a month I will try to make a project for myself, for my girl, our home or for anything I like. I think I need it, so I can always be creative and not only stuck with the bags for the whole year:)

I start it today, I make this pretty scarf. The material is Lithuanian Linen in pink colour. The linen is beautiful but I have to wash it three time times before I start to sew the fabric to get the softness I want.

Also today I managed to finish two clutches which already been cut from last year and I want to participate this week EST challenge which the theme is button and host by P8 :)

Leather Bag

I made lots of Leather Bags for iragrant shop lately, well still not as many as my Fabric Bags but sometime next year should be in a par!

Does it mean I will drop my Fabric Bag lines altogether? No I won't but I will make sure everything in the shop are equal! So the style is for both, you can pick the style you like either in fabric or leather or both!:)

Some of you maybe want to know, why am I make the move to leather, is it because leather pretty popular lately on Etsy? Actually not:) I start my leather bag before other popular Etsy sellers start their lines there, here my earlier leather bag, maybe you still remember this one?

So, what stopping me to continue making them at the time then, well my sewing machine is just not the right one to do these bags. But I got a better sewing machine lately and next year I will have my own Industrial Sewing Machine, the type which will be perfect for leather and will doing wonderfully any ideas I have in mind!:)

Making Alyssa

My daughter always want to 'help' me, especially when involve fabric cutting:)
She also love to ask me to make this and that for her which I always say yes and promised to make them for her.

Until today, out of the blue Gila as you might know as Strumpfkunst contacted me and ask me if I'm interest to have a free website. PHOTO SHOOT IN JARDIN BOTANIQUE

As she did before my friend Anita who is a professional photographer help me out again with the photo shoot for my New Collection. This time we didn't do in the studio or inside the house but since the weather is fantastic we went out there to Neuchatel's Jardin Botanique.

In this post, I'm the one who shot these images so you won't see me in action. Anita and little Miss N will be the main character after the bags:))))

SNEAK PREVIEW

I have two shops on Etsy, iragrant and iragranteco .

Like it or not, I have to admit is hard to keep them both equal! Especially when the new one getting more admires, and the first one kind of stand still and feel unloved! So I do my best it won't happen that way. I love my first shop, as much as the new one and I determinant to make them both stay on Etsy Bag Map equally.

Lately, I'm working hard to make New Collection for my iragrant shop. In total there are five new style of bags for Autum and Winter. I hope they will well received and make iragrant shop in a par again with her little sister:)
